Har Ghar Tiranga - A way to show off your patriotism and to mark 75 years of Independence

The GOI has recently announced the “Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. This campaign is to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it. They must also submit a selfie on harghartiranga.com and rashtragaan.in.

As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all Indians to fly the national flag from their houses between August 13 and 15 to commemorate 75 years of freedom from British rule.

Tiranga is a symbol of pride for every Indian. It represents our national integrity and signifies the hopes and aspirations of us Indians. By bringing it home to hoist it will invoke the feeling of patriotism in our hearts.

To make sure that flags are available to all Indians, the government has also authorized the use of polyester and equipment for flag production. Earlier, only hand-spun and hand-woven flags constructed of khadi, cotton, wool, silk, and bunting material were allowed.

The Flag Code of India was also changed on July 20, 2022, so that the national flag can now be flown both during the day and at night. The previous rule said that the flag could only be hoisted before sunrise or after sunset.

General public, private organizations, or any educational institution can fly the national flag on any given day, regardless of a ceremony or event, as long as they follow the rules to keep our flag’s honor and dignity.

For the campaign, they have also released a new Independence Day song, Har Ghar Tiranga Anthem sung by Sonu Nigam and Asha Bhosle, featuring a group of top stars. Not only government ministers are lending their voices for the campaign, but also famous actors, athletes, and singers. Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Neeraj Chopra, Tiger Shroff and his father, Jackie Shroff, as well as Anupam Kher, MC Mary Kom, Mithali Raj, and others, are a part of Har Ghar Tiranga Anthem.
