Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his flat in the suburban Bandra area on June 14. His death caused an outrage where the people asked for CBI probing this case. So far, many angles have been looked at, from depression to political cause to drug abuse.
The Narcotics Control Bureau initiated a drug angle probe in this case after the Enforcement Directorate shared a report with them following the mobile phone cloning of Rhea Chakraborty.
Over the last two days, the NCB has arrested Rhea Chakraborty's younger brother Showik Chakraborty (24), Sushant Singh Rajput's house manager Samuel Miranda (33), and Dipesh Sawant, a member of the actor's personal staff for the drug charge.
They also asked the actress to appear for questioning regarding the drug case linked to SSR's death. A video was shared on social media showing Rhea on her way to the NCB office. The video shows her hounded by journalists who pushed and probed her while crowding around her personal space, forgoing all social distancing norms.
This behavior of media personnel was condemned by many people who called it 'disgusting' and 'vulture-like'. This included several Bollywood personalities, Taapsee Pannu, Swara Bhasker, Anubhav Sinha, Alankrita Shrivastava, who all took to social media to voice out their opinions.
A few days ago, Rhea shared a video on her Instagram showing a crowd of media personnel in front of her house hounding her father as he was going to an interview with the ED. She said that she has informed the local police station and even gone there but she was given no help. And she asked for their assistance as they cooperate with the various investigating agencies.
Taapsee Pannu tweeted, "In the name of justice these people have lynched a human being off her right to live even before proven guilty. I sincerely pray karma finds the address of each and every human being part of this lowest low of mankind we are witness to,” the actor wrote."
Filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava said, "No thoughts about the economy, the pandemic or anything else of consequence. Indians are only interested in burning Rhea at the stake. That is what makes our people happy and fulfilled and validated. No amount of hate and venom is enough. We are sick. Very very sick."
Dia Mirza responded and said this type of behavior by the media is "reprehensible". Her tweet read, "The law must and will take it's course. This behaviour reprehensible in every way. Enough! Why can't Rhea be given space and the right to physical distancing? Why are the media behaving like vultures? Please please give her space. Stop attacking/dehumanising her & her family."
