RAISE Summit 2020- Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants India to become a global hub for AI
On 5th October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI). During his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the combination of human with Artificial Intelligence can do a lot good for our planet.

This summit is organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and NITI and will run from 5th October to 9th October. The PMO release said, "RAISE 2020 (Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020) will be a global meeting of minds to exchange ideas and chart a course for using AI for social transformation, inclusion and empowerment in areas like healthcare, agriculture, education and smart mobility among other sectors."
During this summit, people will bounce off ideas to increase the use of AI in the field of agriculture and health. This summit is to exchange ideas and curriculum to use AI for social empowerment and its inclusion in key areas with a major focus on health, agriculture, and education.

The summit was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CEO of Niti Aayog Amitabh Kant, Minister of Electronics & Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Reliance managing director Mukesh Ambani where they talked about artificial intelligence and its power to develop different sectors in India.
PM Narendra Modi said that it’s a ‘great effort’ to encourage discussion on AI. He talked about the improvements in workplaces and connectivity due to technology. He said that he wants India to become a hub of artificial intelligence and that many Indians are working on it at the moment. To promote this idea, the government has launched 'Responsible Artificial Intelligence for Youth' in April this year. Under this, 11,000 students from various schools across India have completed the basic course and are now building AI projects.
He also added that India has recently brought a new education policy with a major focus on technology and developing skills. And many e-courses will be made available in various regional languages to better help students everywhere.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has a lot of potential to generate growth and equity. He talked about ‘Responsible AI’ for social empowerment and how Digital India has improved lives and digital literacy.
Artificial intelligence means developing the ability to think and understand and make decisions in a machine. Artificial intelligence is considered to be the most advanced form of computer science in which one creates a mind in the computer that can think like humans.
