Bengaluru Tech Summit 2020: Our local tech solutions have the potential to go global, PM says
On Thursday, 19th November 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bengaluru Technology Summit via video conferencing. The theme for this year's summit is "Next is Now" and is a three-day event from 19th November to 21st November. The summit will discuss the major challenges emerging due to the epidemic and the innovation of new technology in the domains of 'Information Technology and Electronics' and ‘Biotechnology’.
The Bengaluru Tech Summit has been organized by the Government of Karnataka along with Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS), Karnataka government's Vision Group on Information Technology, Biotechnology, and StartUp, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications. The summit is attended by many prominent figures like experienced industry leaders, technical experts, researchers, innovators, investors, policymakers from India as well as around the world.
During his address, PM Modi talked about the importance of technology in this digital world and how it has helped in providing humanitarian aid to those in need. "Thanks to Digital India our nation has witnessed a more human-centric approach to development. Using technology on such a large scale had brought about several life changes for our citizens," he said. PM Modi then went on to stress how lakhs of farmers were able to get financial assistance at a click and it was possible due to technology.
He also added, "India as a country is uniquely positioned to leap ahead in the information era. We have the best minds as well as the biggest market. Our local tech solutions have the potential to go global." We can offer a lot of tech solutions to the world with the important role of the Youth of India! In his words the potential of our youth and the potential of technology is endless.
PM Modi said that Digital India is no longer seen as a regular government initiative as it has become a way of life for us all and has helped people everywhere, especially the underprivileged. The use of technology on such a large scale has brought many changes in the lives of citizens. He further stated that the objective of this has always been the liberalization of the Tech and Innovation industry. According to him, India has amazing potential as well as the market to further itself in the technology sector and this is the time to give it our best.
