On Wednesday, many users noted that the live price of indices in the National Stock Exchange (NSE) have stopped updating. After that, several retail traders complained about it, notifying the NSE. As it turns out, there'd been a technical glitch so the index price feed for indices across brokers froze.
Following up on the complaint, the NSE said that it is working on restoring its systems while halting trading on NSE. They said that they are 'working on restoring the systems as soon as possible.' And have closed trading on all the segments at 11:40 which will be restored as soon as issue is resolved.
Their tweet read, "NSE has multiple telecom links with two service providers to ensure redundancy. We have received communication from both the telecom service providers that there are issues with their links due to which there is an impact on NSE system.
"
Speaking on the issue, Zerodha, a broking and trading website, said in a tweet, "There is an issue with live ticks for NSE indices (Nifty 50, Nifty Bank and others) across brokers. We are in touch with NSE to have this fixed."
Currently, the Nifty 50 index is stuck at 14,820 and Nifty Bank remained at 35,626.60 since 10:15am. The live price quotes of all the 11 sector gauges in the NSE are also not updating due to the technical glitch. The Nifty and Nifty Bank Futures prices were updating as usual.
As per NSE, the market will reopen at 1 PM and will go live at 1:15 PM. They will cancel all pending orders, so if you want to buy something, you'll have to wait till 1:15 PM when you can place a new order.
