Patna-Varanasi Jan Shatabdi Express Starts Tomorrow

The railway is slowly starting the operation of about 70 trains which were closed for operation during the lockdown. From April onwards, most of the railway trains will start running according to their predetermined time.

On Wednesday, the East Central Railway announced to start the operation of the Jan Shatabdi Express which runs from Manduadih in Varanasi to Patna Junction. This train covers only a few stops, which are Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, Dildarnagar, Buxar, and Ara Junction.

Closed for over a year, this train will finally start running on track again, which will make traveling between Bihar and UP much easier.

During the peak of the corona crisis, the Indian Railways made the ordinary second-class coach come under the reservation ambit. This created problems for passengers who travel without a reservation. With the commencement of the Patna-Varanasi Jan Shatabdi Express, this problem is likely to go away to a large extent.

Apart from Varanasi, passengers from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh and Buxar, Ara, Patna, and other districts of Bihar will benefit greatly because of the start of this train. To ride this train, passengers can get their tickets up to 6 hours before the journey.

East Central Railway has already started the operation of two other Jan Shatabdi Express running from Patna Junction. This includes Patna-Ranchi and Patna-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express. This third Jan Shatabdi from Patna will also start from 31st March.

All seats in this train are of reservation quota. Apart from the general category, AC car seats will also be available. The best feature of this train is that it will reach its destination in a short period of time. Ticket booking for this train has already been started by IRCTC. Travelers can book their tickets through the IRCTC website or app.

Just weeks ago, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal started off the Siddhabali Jan Shatabdi express between Kotdwar and Delhi. This train will travel daily at 7:00 am from Kotdwar to Delhi at 1:40 pm. The railways also operationalized a host of local trains to connect the Delhi NCR region.
