She started with no connections in the music industry and now has many famous remixed songs as well as her own music under her belt! DJ Chhaya is amongst the top female DJs in India. Born in Bhopal to a Brahmin family, she was born as Krishna Dwivedi. From a young age, DJ Chhaya has been interested in music. Learning the latest songs, listening to beats, and wanting to make her own beats.
Krishna aka DJ Chhaya finished her schooling in Jabalpur, away from her family yet staying on top of her classes. Art has always had a dicey reputation; people not taking it seriously, considering it just a hobby and not a serious job. To appease society, she did a course in Hotel Management but her heart was always set to music.
And she decided to follow her heart, no matter where it led. Her parents supported her dream and she went on to do a course on DJing Music Production. This course helped kickstart her career as a DJ.
After finishing her degree, DJ Chhaya set her own path and gave it her all. She didn't care that she had no contacts in the industry. She knew what she wanted and she wanted to achieve all that she could. She trusted her skills and set on her journey. She was only 20 years old when she had her first gig!
She started her career at Poison (Sango) Club, Bhopal as an in-house DJ. She stayed there for 1.5 years. Over the years, she has DJed at multiple events at various clubs in multiple cities. A Valentine's day party at the Ice n Spice club in Mumbai, a Christmas day party and an NYE party at Bootcamp in Ahmedabad, a Halloween party at Poison club, Holi Madness at Banyan Paradise in Vadodara.
During her gigs, she has been to many cities, performed at various events. She also was part of the Youth Fest (Swacch Bharat) at CIPET Ahmedabad.
Apart from DJing solo, she has collaborated with other DJs as well. From a Girls Night with DJ Aakansha at Poison club to Saturday night with DJ Amour and DJ Smitz, she has worked with many other famous DJs.
She also was part of the promotion of movies 'Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene' and 'Manjhi' at the Poison Club.
DJ Chhaya also made a Youtube account and started posting her remixes and mashups there. As the saying goes, hard work never goes unnoticed. She had the skills and her work was a testament to those skills. Soon, she started garnering the attention of music lovers from all around the world. Her mashups took off!
Currently, her YouTube account has almost 40k+ subscribers and all her videos get thousands of views at least! Her Broken Heart Mashup has almost 3 million views and over 400 comments! Her ability to mesh the music touches the heart of anyone and everyone who listens to her music.
After getting huge success from her mashups, DJ Chhaya delved into developing her own music which has been her dream since childhood. She was finally able to realize her dreams when she came out with
