Everything you need to know about protecting your skin from the sun.

Sunscreen is important, no matter what the season is. Even when you think the sun is hidden, the damage it does is still bad. Even when you are indoors, the sun rays can still penetrate through. So, using sunscreen every day and incorporating it into your beauty routine is a must!

And if you are going to be outdoors, it is equally important for you to reapply it every two hours so that its effects don't wear out.

If you are going to use it every day, and you must, then we have compiled a list of rules you must follow and abide by! Read on to know the best way of applying your sunscreen!

1) Sunscreen should be applied daily, even if you don't plan to go out.
Indoor UV exposure can occur from ultraviolet that penetrates through the glass, which is UVA. UVA is emitted at the same level — all day long — where is UVB, which is blocked by glass peaks mid-day.

2) You should cover your entire face with sunscreen, as well as your ears, neck, and hands.
Sunscreen should be applied first thing in the morning so you can go about your day without worrying.

3) Use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. It is clinically proven to be a sufficient amount of protection to reduce or minimize the adverse effects of sunlight!
And it's always better to apply sunscreen with higher SPF to ensure the highest quality of protection for the longest period of time.

4) Ideally, sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours, or more frequently if you are swimming or sweating heavily. The best time to apply sunscreen is 15 minutes before you go outside so that it has ample time to soak in.

5) The best sunscreen formula is with zinc and titanium because they're natural ingredients. These physical sunscreens sit on the surface of the skin to deflect the rays. But you have to find one that doesn't leave behind a white cast.

6) It's equally important to wear sun-protective clothing, a hat, and sunglasses. UV exposure is the number one cause of premature aging in the scan as well as skin cancer. So, protect yourself by covering yourself up at all times.

7) While you are protecting your skin, don't forget about your lips. They are very fragile and also need protection from the harmful rays of the sun! So, always get a lip balm that hydrates your lips as well as protects them from sun rays.
