World Health Day: How to stay healthy in today's world



World Health Day is celebrated on 7th April every year. It was started by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 7th April 1948. After which it started being celebrated every year since the year 1950. This year is the 71st World Health Day celebration.

The purpose of celebrating this day is to make good health facilities accessible to people anywhere and everywhere in the world and to make people more health-conscious.

In the initial period, only those countries affiliated with the WHO celebrated this day. But as the number of member countries increased, it started being celebrated in other countries as well. Every year, a special theme is also chosen to celebrate World Health Day. This year, the campaign is to build a fairer, healthier world for people everywhere.

Today, millions of people around the world are struggling with many major illnesses. From fatal diseases like malaria, cholera, TB, polio, leprosy, cancer, and AIDS to preventable diseases, people all over the world get sick due to misinformation, no accessible treatment, or have no awareness.

The main purpose of this day is to make people around the world aware of their physical, mental, and social well-being. By celebrating World Health Day, people are taught to take care of their health and be aware of it.

Healthy Diet- To be healthy, it is important that you take a healthy diet every day; include nutritious items in your daily diet. Always eat food that is rich in healthy fat and protein, like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Good Night's Sleep- It is important to get at least 7 hours of sleep every day. Good sleep keeps your health and minds healthy and without enough sleep, your brain and body systems won't function normally.

Avoid stress - Taking stress increases the risk of many mental illnesses. To combat any mental issue you have, the best way is to work your body, by going for a walk, doing yoga, or meditation.

Exercising - As important as a healthy diet and good sleep is, exercising daily can dramatically improve the quality of your life. You will feel more reenergized and feel fitter. It can also help you to catch a good sleep.
