Shahrukh Khan to return with YRF's lavishly-mounted action film titled ‘Pathan’

After playing the narrator in the movie ‘The Zoya Factor’ which was released in the last quarter of 2019, fans have been speculating and anticipating the return of the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan. The last movie he actually starred in was a space disaster titled ‘Zero’, released in 2018. And it seems that the long wait for his return is ending!

News has started surfacing about Shahrukh Khan to star in YRF's next lavishly-mounted action film titled ‘Pathan’. The name is after the leading character which Shahrukh will play. According to sources, the script is almost ready and they are now in the process of fixing the schedules, timelines, and locations. 

‘Pathan’ was announced with a tweet by Rahul Raut, a Hindi Journalist, that read, “BIG NEWS!! #ShahRukhKhan to star in & as #Pathan in YRF's next lavishly-mounted action film directed by #War fame Siddharth Anand... @deepikapadukone likely to play the female lead!”

The SRK-YRF combination has always given memorable films, starting from Darr to Mohabbatein, Chak De India, Fan, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and others. They are coming back again with Pathan.Fans have waited for so long for this moment and the news has received mostly positive reactions. 

YRF’s will celebrate its 50th anniversary next month and Aditya Chopra, YRF’s chairman will presumably announce ‘Pathan’ during the celebrations. The film, supposedly, will release on Gandhi Jayanti next year, 2nd October 2021 but due to the Covid-19 situation, the dates might change.

The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand, who last directed ‘War’. It’s speculated that Deepika Padukone will play the leading role opposite Shahrukh which will take this film to bigger heights. Deepika and SRK have previously worked on many hit films, like, Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, and Chennai Express, and fans have always loved their on-screen Jodi.
